Dr. Momma - Pt. 3
Of course his back is all achy from being in the rack and he still gets a bit dizzy if he gets up too soon.....and he has had the lower plate in for a bit but it's still baby steps as the tissue is still way the hell swollen....oh how well I remember those days. I think he'd be happier of he didn't have to wait for the next surgery on Monday..you know the get this the hell over routine and while a part of me gets that....I know that the body can only take so much....
Speaking of....It's scary when Aunt Pol here is the healthiest of her chums and partners in crime...
Let's see...Best friend has an abdominal hernia which is going to be a biotch and then some. Like yours truly, she had worked herself up pretty good...hell yeah I would have worried about it being a tumor too....don't lie...that kind of thing crosses your mind when you hit a certain age...oh you know it does..
NG, JZ has bruised her kidneys and ribs from a rather nasty spill so the other NG...CD and I are in the sort of checking two sofa's mode..
As for me....I am about to climb the friggan walls.
Other than checking on hisself , there isn't a lot for me to do right now. I took a few days pre-op to really clean the Casa when he was at work and that helped keep the noise down so he can rest...but it's been raining sideways and so I can't work in the yard . That may be for the best as I can see myself really wearing myself out checking on him...running to the garden..him/garden....yada yada yada.
I am n0t really sleeping well because it is in my nature to want to fix something, especially if it involves someone I love and they need fixing.....I fret really well.
I am going to watch some Fancast and crash.
Oh...CSI Alert...Seriously. If you missed it ( Silly Carbon Based Life Form)....go to Fancast and watch last nights epp. Cameo's by:
Grace Park
Ron Moore
Roger Berman
Kate Vernon
SERIOUS....Check it the F out peeps .
Have a great weekend.
Ciao,
Dr. Aunty Pol
EDIT : Oh Lordy..I finished this at 10:15 p.m...It's now 1 a.m. but on the upside 4 epps of " Brisco County AND Bonus..I'd forgotten the R. Lee Emory (sp- hey it's late , m'kay) played Brisco County , Sr....SQUEEEEEEEEE !
Nite all.

Dr. Momma - Pt . 2
I have some soup that I pured veggies into that I can restrain for him, the tea and jello are made. The other NG, CD and I made the Kroger run for the soft food yada yada that I can fix for him....damn that stuff adds up too....OK..the Dryers cookie dough ice cream is for me....busted..I know.
I've called my office to let them know that I won't be in on Monday since he has to go back for the third surgery....yeah.
THIRD.
Evidently, the remaining teeth are being stubborn and he had begun to metabolize the nitrous and Novocaine so they had to take a pause in all of this. Of course the Dental staff wouldn't tell me jack...which I fully get with the HIPPA laws..that's fine, but I still wanted to let them know that he got home okay and to confirm that the next dental appt. is this coming Monday. Tuesday...I have no clue and I will deal with that then.
Thankfully , I have a boss who does understand all of this , and that is a blessing...no not sucking up here...just giving credit where credit is due. I also called Nee Nee so she won't fret and she can pass it on to those who need to know without putting it out firm wide...
Off to check soup... oops..I need to go find his business card so that I can call his office and give them a heads up regarding Monday....ok..yeah...got the number.
Keep my better half in good thoughts ..m'kay ??

Gonna be quiet at the casa for a bit but that's okay too .
Have a great week,

Cake
I couldn't help it.Alas and alack , it's true..there was no birthday cake for the old gal here. There was however, courtesy of the NG's ...warm...out of the oven warm white chocolate macadamia nut cookies...bliss...pure bliss.
All in all it was a lovely birthday.
One surprise was a call from my Aunt and Uncle in Mpls...oops...edit...edit...Chaska..LOL.
D & V have lived on Gaywood drive for so long that I think that the address is tattooed on back of my head. It was wonderful to hear from them and I do truly think the world and all of them but when the usual " And the kids are doing ...blah de blah blah blah...I tend to zone out . I know how wretched that sounds...but...let's be honest here. As far as my mothers side of the family was concerned..we were the outsiders. Forget the fact that Mom was the eldest, or that I am the oldest Grandchild for that matter...we left the frozen wasteland....hell...we never really lived there except for 1968. There was and is no commonality of topics or shared moments between us...we are not better or worse than each other , just different . Families do that . It doesn't mean that you don't care, it's just important to be honest about the differences too . I am certain that if you ask them, and they were being honest, they would say the same thing. Being close in a family only really works if you maintain constant contact...even via phone. If you try to force it or create the illusion, everyone loses . I know as little of them as they know of me...and for me that's okay . I am certain that they are all lovely people, but if I don't get invited to the next tea party/clam bake/what evs...I'm just okey dokey with that too.
It really hit home in 1993 when GE died, and now after all this time I am fine with it. We all have different experiences . I doubt they'd last three days here in Houston...and I can safely say the same if I had to live up there....cause gang...with my luck it would be the middle of winter.
All together now....." Not only NO...but HELL NO."
Still...it was nice to have that bit of conversation.
Other than that..well...let's see...the youngest brother got hisself a jobbie, not the one that we sort of hammered the resume out for but what evs..in todays world..take the jobbie dude...and at the age of 49 , he is finally getting that . To be fair tho, he was at the last company for 10 years in marketing...and if you knew him you'd know what a gifted Artiste he can be......and I'm not talking painting here.
We didn't go out for the din din thing since we agreed that there is no sense at all spending the money for my birthday or his next month on a meal that he really cannot at the moment enjoy. In a few months when things sort themselves out..oh hella yeah.
And then of course there is the every 6 years trek to the DPS .
As my luck goes , the birthday falls around the beginning of the Shell Open...If you read that bit and go..."WTF" , either you are clueless about goof or have linked over here in some inter dimensional way that scares the crap out of me so please don't slam the door on the way out..thank you.....tip the waitress on the way.
Anyhoo...it always...always rains on certain occasions here in H town. The HLSR ( for the tourists..the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo) parade and generally the time that the rodeo is open...the Shelll Open is the same way.
There I am..Golfsmith umbrella in hand...in line 45 minutes before the doors open and I am 15'th in line. To be honest, some of the line was made up of friends, family etc of the folks who actually had a valid need to be there...like MOI. I left the entourage at home tho.
Forty five minutes to wait for a process that took up ten. The kicker was the look on the clerks face as I said a polite and sincere good morning. My honest reply was that it costs nothing to be pleasant ...and from the looks of the crowd..the gals were gonna need it. I didn't know that there are only so many time slots and examiners for road tests..and I gotta tell ya....no matter how bad my day could have gotten...it was no where near as bad as the lil gal who stood in line from 6 a . m. to 8 a.m. only to be told that there were no more slots to be had that particular day .
I really, really felt bad for her.
So...to sum up..great birthday. Got to indulge my fan girl -iness with an epic run of " Witchblade" on the DRV....I waited forever for that to be released.
Now if they'd just do " Peacemakers".
Tom Berenger and ponies....nuff said.
Got the do done..hee hee...short ( ala Zoe Wanamaker as Madame Hooch in Harry Potter ) and back to dark red...really dark....Sharon Osbourne dark....I am a happy old broad.
Have a great week and happy Easter...remember..chocolate is a terrible thing to waste..so go for it.

Boundries,,,Oh Yeah,,This Again

Wednesday, April 01, 2009

Ok...Ok...I know.
There hasn't been a lot that I consider worthwhile to blog about for a bit , unless every one wants to hear how pissed off I am that the carpet cleaner at home is wonky . Trust me, with a six - pack - o - katz , it is a life saver.
Onward.
One of my gal pals at the office got the best suprise about 30 minutes ago. Her eldest, a Ranger down range got a last minute get out of hell pass for two weeks so hisself shows up here to suprise his Mama . You raised him well , sweetie...you did indeed.
They scooted out of here at Mach 5.
Gonna be a good day .

Random Musings

Over the last few days , I have come to examine some things.
* Warning - Random Mind Drift May Occur *
I started this verbal diarrhea ( SU term) a few years ago for a variety of reasons. Reactions to various moments of bullshit that seem to feel a requirement to appear in my IRL....Whatevs.
Sometimes it was to convey to the SU a point or a problemo that I wasn't quite up to addressing .
Sometimes it was shit the Katz did that amused me.
I am very careful to the point of paranoia of respecting other peoples names ( * Names have been changed to blah blah blah ) because I realize that I do not have the right or entitlement to out them for being the total hatted ones they are and just fail to fucking get it.
I read a variety of blogs that interest me. I have almost a Tourettes variety of " Gotta Read That "
One blog lately has interested me to the point that I have read the whole thing over the last three days - at work - shhhhh.
I can relate in a lot of scary ways whether I want to own that or not.
And again , it is the train wreck ( no offense intended) that we all see and can't tear away from.
For that I am grateful, because it made me examine yet again what I would feel is permitted for me to put out there, what I am comfortable with.
For that boot to the head, thank you Sous Gal.

Observations
Great means we win the lottery.
Nice means I got done a lot of little crap that I've needed to and hate to overall.
Cleaning out the purse, organizing coupons, creating files, filing ...you know. The usual crap that can pile up.
I attribute this to an unusual situation....I got enough sleep yesterday..I got a nap. Not a great or restful one overall as the kids decided to play Speed Racer/ Thundering Herd of Elephants over the Momma....but still the time to get to try to get nappage.
But.........
I am feeling like I am on thin ice tonight.
There is a movie on HBO staring Kevin Bacon called " Taking Chance."
I became aware of this movie while it was in production and I have read all of the reviews, all thumbs up, positive and yet not over the top.
And yet I hesitated to bring this up to the SU.
The movie deals with bringing home the body of a soldier killed down range.
A 20 year old man /child.
I say this not out of disrespect , I saw the film in the other room and I can see the promise of youth in Chances face.
I had to go back to our room at one point and saw SU's face and his tears. His comment was telling.
" I didn't want to watch it but I had to ."
I try not to belabor the point but SU did a tour in Viet Nam.
Just one.
I get this confused , because he was in twice, but having been corrected ...( thanks dear) ..still
HE IS A VETERAN.
He served.
We have followed this war in some ways more than most , and in others not as closely. It is what it is for the individual , and I do not say this to sound flip, or disrespectful in any way. I have seen at times what these experiences have done to my husband, he does not talk about it a lot exxcept around other vet's in that jovial " Let me tell what we did here....pass the beer over" kind of thing.
I do not and cannot compare myself to the spouses of those in sevice who also serve today...right now as we speak. I was not married to SU when he served. I just deal with the aftermath.
But the issues are still in some ways there. We are dealing with the V.A . over medical issues and so that adventure had begun.
But my husband had it right.
The movie should be viewed and discussed by every person in this country, regardless of political viewpoint.
I grew up in the military and my pride in that has no bounds.
My husband knows that I am proud of him, today was just another example of why.

Aunty Pol
P.S. ( I corrected the post dear..thanks....see ..if I got a better nap and you kept the herd from thundering on the bed...LMAO...!!)

Sigh..Doesn't look Good Dear

Sorry Honey....
I checked the pricing at the site . I am not going to pay 150.00 + fees for shit seats and we can't afford the better ones.
I know that they haven't toured together in 40 years and the only thing that would make it better would be the addition of Ginger Baker...but still.....
This would not even be an option of I had not had to cancel the trip to Orlando, the date of the concert is during the vacay..but if I have to bail on R & R , I sure as hell am not buying a set of tickets .
I guess I will have to settle for the CD
KRAPPITY KRAP KRAP KRAP KRAP KRAP.
I knew today was fubared when I realized it was not Saturday.

FRAK FRAK FRAKITY FRAK FRAK FRAK

What the FRAK ????????
This show is going to drive me bonkers...straight up , the ship is singing nuts. I get that Gaeta has been slowly going over the edge, the fact that his leg is making him crazy is enough to see that clearly . Anastasia's suicide didn't help tho it was understandable . She was always the fragile one , and to accept that the hope and promise of a refuge, after all the promises ( lies ) and verbage of Pythia was hollow...dirt nap time for our Dualla. I get that Madame Airlock doesn 't want to puke her ass off anymore, that her time left is finite and precious , and in choosing to be with the Admiral is the closest thing to family and happiness that she will be allowed to know .
I get that in destroying the resurrection ship , that the Fleet has leveled the odds and that the Cylons have given what little they knew of cooperation to the cause of survival....but..
HOW IN THE FRAK CAN THEY BRING THE 5'TH CYLON BACK ?????
They destroyed the hub.
The skin jobs can no longer download into a fresh model when they are killed.
Saul killed his wife via poison on New Caprica when it was revealed that she was collaborating with the Cylons .
Ellen Tigh is DEAD !
So how the FRAK is she going to come back ??????????
ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH.
Have a great week.

Just A Smile
Why Bravo , Why ?
Leah (Top Photo)
Carla ( Bottom Photo - Duh )
In many ways , Season 5 of " Top Chef" has been piss poor.
But..........last night...takes the cake so to speak.
WFT Over ?
Leah ( as seen above ) basically threw her hands up in the air and proclaimed to one and all that she " Gives, gave up " on the quickfire challenge.
Excuuuuuuuuseeeeeeeeee Moi ?
You claim to have some skills and are going to focus on winning , in the all but impissable chance that the audience will forget/delete from collective memory the scenes of you and Ho-sea playing tonsil hockey.....you should be so lucky biotch.
If memory serves, when I ran a restaurant , and yes kids...I did in fact..if I had thrown my hands up after fubaring the prep of an item, and basically saying F this.. having established that I wasn't quite smart enough to suck it up and ask for guidance/help....the door would have not hit my much smaller at the time ass on the way out ...werd !
And yet...
They sent Jaime home.Buh Bye team rainbow.
It took me a second to realize that there are only 2 episodes left and that Bravo in their usual manner have saved both Leah and Carla ( " Sending out the love." ...Oh screw that ..send edible food you idiot) so that one and then the other can be eliminated thus leaving Stefan , Ho- Sea and Fabio to go head to head.
Fan favorite..Fabio of course . He is a bit of a goober , and yet he is also warm and engaging . If he can reduce the ego a tad, he shows more promise than most of the others..sides..he's cute.Nuff said there .
Best Part...Season finale will be in NOLA..Emerile will be the guest judge...hee hee...
Best part of last night :
Carla's expression when she saw the semi live eel that Stefan decided to play with during the quick fire challenge.OMG..I hate reptiles and even I thought it was a hoot since anyone with an active brain stem knew he was doing it merely to freak people out.
Have a great weekend.

MOO
SOCIALISM You have 2 cows. You give one to your neighbor.
COMMUNISM
You have 2 cows. The State takes both and gives you some milk.
FASCISM
You have 2 cows. The State takes both and sells you some milk.
NAZISM
You have 2 cows. The State takes both and shoots you.
BUREAUCRATISM
You have 2 cows. The State takes both, shoots one, milks the other, and then throws the milk away.
TRADITIONAL CAPITALISM
You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull. Your herd multiplies, and the economy grows. You sell them and retire on the income.
SURREALISM
You have two giraffes. The government requires you to take harmonica lessons.
AN AMERICAN CORPORATION
You have two cows. You sell one and force the other to produce the milk of four cows. Later, you hire a consultant to analyze why the cow has dropped dead.
ENRON VENTURE CAPITALISM
You have two cows. You sell three of them to your publicly listed company, using letters of credit opened by your brother-in-law at the bank, then execute a debt/equity swap with an associated general offer so that you get all four cows back, with a tax exemption for five cows. The milk rights of the six cows are transferred via an intermediary to a Cayman Island Company secretly owned by the majority shareholder who sells the rights to all seven cows back to your listed company. The annual report says the company owns eight cows, with an option on one more. You sell one cow to buy a new president of the United States, leaving you with nine cows. No balance sheet provided with the release. The public then buys your bull.
A FRENCH CORPORATION
You have two cows. You go on strike, organize a riot, and block the roads, because you want three cows.
A JAPANESE CORPORATION
You have two cows. You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk. You then create a clever cow cartoon image called “Cowkimon” and market it worldwide.
A GERMAN CORPORATION
You have two cows. You re-engineer them so they live for 100 years, eat once a month, and milk themselves.
AN ITALIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows, but you don't know where they are. You decide to have lunch.
A RUSSIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows. You count them and learn you have five cows. You count them again and learn you have 42 cows. You count them again and learn you have 2 cows. You stop counting cows and open another bottle of vodka.
A SWISS CORPORATION
You have 5000 cows. None of them belong to you. You charge the owners for storing them.
A CHINESE CORPORATION
You have two cows. You have 300 people milking them. You claim that you have full employment and high bovine productivity. You arrest the newsman who reported the real situation.
AN INDIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows. You worship them.
A BRITISH CORPORATION
You have two cows. Both are mad.
AN IRAQI CORPORATION
Everyone thinks you have lots of cows. You tell them that you have none. Nobody believes you, so they bomb the shit out of you and invade your country. You still have no cows, but at least now you are part of Democracy.
AN AUSTRALIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows. Business seems pretty good. You close the office and go for a few beers to celebrate.
A NEW ZEALAND CORPORATION
You have two cows. The one on the left looks very good.

It's been , well yeah that ..

It's been an odd couple of days here of late at the Casa.
Like many other businesses, SU's has begun to lay some meat sacks off. And by that , I mean that either hours have been cut for those who have no business being there at all and so forth , or they are just gone, Baby , gone.
Yes, it has been tense here.
Hisself , Gaia bless him is one of those who being of a certain age, know the full value of a real days work for a paycheck. He understands the give and take and the obligation one owes an employer, but he has only been there for 2 1/2 years and we all know how that goes.
The hard part is that he really loves this gig and wishes that he had found this 25 + years ago .
I am trying not to worry....FAIL !
Oh well....
On the lighter side, my youngest brother now age 48 is wearing glasses..( LMAO ..welcome to the club dear ) and seems to have finally grown up a bit. He and SU played golf last weekend and he came by....and the world did not end. He has the aches and pains we all have and has learned the value of civil discourse .
We chatted.
I told him that I am now at a place in my life where I no longer choose to participate in the arguements, and the angst. I will live my life as I see fit and it is what it is.
While there are issues with others, I have embraced live and let live, do not F with me and we will be fine.
It's just easier.
We aren't the Waltons .
Have a great rest of the week and weekend

Now granted, the above jpeg is one that I ran across and it made me smile. Anyone that knows me knows that I am a huge fan of : www.icanhascheezeburger.com and that we are cat people at Casa de Swamp.

Finally

I for one am grateful to the Deity of my choice that this malarky is all over. It has been a hell of a long 2 years people.
I do have to say that the concession speech I heard From John McCain last night was thoughtful, sincere , and I walked away with the opinion that if he had been able to deliver that sort of speech during the campain , the outcome might have been different.
Might.
Who I voted for is not the issue, and no ones business but my own .
But I voted.
I do know more than one person who decided not to vote and at first , this really bothered the beejeebus out of me, and then I realized that that is also a choice. There have been elections where I have basically voted for the lesser of 2 evils...not this time..but it has happened and I think that for a lot of us , this option is no longer one we can live with. So I do in my own way get it.
I am more concerned about 2 wars, and the economy than who wears what and the breed of puppy our new President is going to get for his young daughters. I would hope that they consider adopting a puppy from the SPCA or better yet a no kill shelter.
At least it's over.
Have a good week.

This is what I miss this time of year.
A true Autumn.
It's been a lovely weekend....we were slugs more or less. I did the usual laundry bit and hisself did some home maint . we needed so all in all it was good. I did not try to do a lot in the yard as I have hurt my back again and have to really be careful. It's old and all of that , but there you are. It's gotten worse as the P2 makes it's progress and I know that I cannot change it, it is what it is. It just rather pisses me off since it always seems that what ever is in bloom right now looks so vibrant and I want to go play . The hydrangeas are sporting a lot of new growth as are the ornamental peppers and everyone is just popping out.
Sigh.
The kittehs are all frisky, we can barely get Sgt. Panda Pants and his sisser Miss Gracie Marie in the house...but for the bribes they would never come in when it's like this...glad they are happy campers. Even the puppys next door are extra " PLAY PLAY PLAY " ....they are sooo cute when they all get together and run the fence line.
Not much else....I re-scheduled jury duty for Halloween..intentionially....if I have to be there , I might as well be entertained.
Have a great week.

Katz - Part Two
As stated earlier, the katz are highly spoiled and placate the 'rents by acting as if they in fact understand what we say..yes, we are that delusional. This includes , but is not limited to :
No
Not for kitty
It's not Caturday
Stop ( fill in the blank)
You get the idea. They all have their favorites as far as the treats ( Temptations) go and I of course am expected to remember the order , the preference and cater to the whim of those with four on the floor. Yeah, the person who occasionally forgets where she put her debit card, ( shut it dear, I can hear you , even from the office ) , is supposed to remember that if the triplets had chiggin yesterday.. no repeats.
Andy and Gracie Marie however are not picky..they like the fact that they might get to hoover more since the trips can snub ....TREATS.
That is the irony...they are treats....not the usual IAMs kibble in the bowls.
SHEESH.
I've seen toddlers less picky.
Onward.
It appears that Ike may try to spank us this week. I feel badly for those poor souls in Haiti . It's not like they had a pot to piss in before the storms imitated Sherman marching through Georgia..they just lave less than zero now. It appears that Ike is headed this way and won't make landfall till the end of the week , unless he gains speed. I don't know if at this point with the fourth real storm situation in the last month or so that we are all a tad weary about it, but there us a lot of Meh about the whole thing. Whine all you want to , panic you noobs ( when in danger , when in doubt...run in circles...scream and shout....thanks Daddy..that still makes me chuckle.) or check the pantry and realize that it's gonna do what ever the hell it wants to...period.
The NG , Ms Jeri's folks are in from Thibideaux . The whole Houma- Thib area got smacked pretty good and her folks generator blew so they are gonna be here a while . The Crazy Cajun's people left NOLA for Atlanta and such..hello Hannah..um..yeah....right. I guess we will look at the larder and go to Kroger...with everyone else.
BLEECH !
Other than that , it's been fairly quiet of late. I made the SU suffer through an old movie we got in from NetFlix...a very old movie. I remember it as being better than it was . Of course , I haven't seen it in 30 odd years and am a self admitted fan of " Night if the Lepus ." . Anyhoo, if you are in the mood, invite some friends over, grab Scooby Snax and the beverage ( adult or otherwise of your choice ) and play MST3K with...Drum Roll Please....
" The Long Ships" staring Richard Widmark, Sidney Poitier , Russ Tamblyn and Oskar Homolka and Lionel Jefferies.
Discuss the following:
Poitier's theft of James Brown's hair.
Lionel Jefferies gay Eunuch in the harem raid..good times.
The choreography of the above harem raid.
The prologue.
What a nimble lil thing Russ Tamblyn was..eeesh.
Granted , I am a fan of " Flash Gordon " staring Buster Crabbe , the Marz Brothers..even Zeppo and the above mentioned " Night Of The Lepus " ( you want that bar b qued bunny to go ? Hee)..

No..They Are Not At All Spoiled
I am a wimp. SO is hisself to a lesser degree.
They are all rescues...literally.
Munchkin ( Nee Nee Puddins, Munchie Poo Poo) came from VAP at Petsmart , along with the late and sorely missed Jakey J. She now sleeps on the pillow , next to me and fusses if she does not have turn down service. This is the girl who as a kit drank from the master bath tap ala " Esther Williams ". She now demands and...sorry to say...gets.....fresh " Sparkley Clean " water twice a day in her bowl. She also whines for cat nip and hs been relegated to " Caturday night " on the nip rug. I am not hoovering every night. She bitches when I am not ready for bed by 10 p.m. so I think she is channeling Peaches.
Lord , I miss my Piggy.
She had me trained.
Ten p.m....bed time Momma.....Yes M'am.

Vacay's Are Wonderful
When you live in the Gulf Coast area , you pay attention to the weather God's.
Or you die.
Simple as that.
Hisself and I had planned our usual, which got cancelled for various reasons. No biggie , down here you take steps to compensate for that.
I , however stayed home .
And had the best time.
I have never been a " housewife " .
I didn't marry a house .
I do however, relish the time to have to be able to do things at the Casa .
On my own terms.
I did take the time to phone/e mail my best friends, get caught up , so all is good.
I also took the time to make some decisions with regards to others that will ultimately work out all the better for me .
Now....if we'd just won the lottery.................yeah...I know .
Blessed Be ,

Definately Different
We finally got some rain at the Casa, sorely needed from Dolly. All over town , everyone but us got rain , and I do mean everyone . We finally got some at the house on Thursday, and of course as par for the course, I had been fighting sinus's to the point that by Thursday I had a full blown migraine.
Not much that can be done there but just get through it.
Work that day was completely out of the question . It was the " Pray For Death" kind of thing , so I called in and went back to bed.
Here is the thing.
I have been having some very disturbing dreams lately.
Disturbing as in the " You are dead or no longer able to hurt / beat/ harm me and in one part of my mind I know this , but.....
Waking up fearful , not rested....wondering why the F after X number of years is this happening is to say the least difficult.
My main focus is fighting the panic attacks and the anxiety attacks right now.
Why ?
Why Now ?
We are good at home, nothing new or traumatic..just our lil old boring selves...
So .
Why ?
Have a happy week.
Ciao .

Busy Bees
His mother and I were in tears from almost the moment I got off the plane and stayed that way for much of the 5 days that I was there. I'd forgotten how dry the climate is on the eastern half of the state . My skin went crunch...no matter how much moisture spackle I slathered on when time permitted...yikes.....time for a facial.
Funny, when there is a wedding, the bride has eleventy bazillion gal pals to help hold her up....the grooms folks...Me. We worked out tails off for this " country " wedding with over 300 guests. Some of the funniest were the tux fittings and the hilarity there....OMG....Hey Abner..nice touch that with the white sox......hubba hubba Baby.
The wedding was at the grandparents farm, and this is no slouch of a farm either....um....folks....wheat is $15.00 a bushel....may want to check the perimeter....we threw a bunch of that shit. Luckily, the wedding wasn't in August, between harvest and the fact that after harvest it is so dry and depressing to look at , not to mention how stubble fires wreak ones sinuses...yup...I still remember at bit from living on the alfalfa ranch in Touchet. The wheat fields , alfalfa and the peas were all so green and lush...just wonderful. The rehearsal dinner was fun...lots of nerves and goofiness.
Wedding Day .
Why the hell Jimmy Olson , cub reporter had the entire bridal party and family there 5 ( FIVE ppl....FIVE) hours for photo's before the wedding escapes me.
Word of the day....Hydrate....pass the Desani stat.
My kidneys are still floating and I drink a hell of a lot of water as it is.
Yes, I submitted with grace to the photo thingy.
Anyone who knows me at all knows that I hate , loathe and detest having my picture taken. I have NEVER seen a good one of me. I am just one of those unfortunates that does not take a good photo....no matter who is doing it. But for my Godson, I will endure with a smile.
His Mom, Grandmother and I cried through the whole damn thing . And the receiving line was worse, thank God I didn't have to stand in that. OMG , how she and I cried, and I suspect her mate was sniffing too....admit it big Daddy....you were.
The whole process was sooo sweet, we bailed about 11: 30 and the kids were dancing till 4: 30 a.m. I had a lot of offers to dance, but gave that up ages ago, even the slow ones.....except for " Cotton Eyed Joe".....it's the law peeps.....gotta do it.
The next day was back to the farm to watch the kids open their gifts...quite a nice haul...you two are off to a great start .
The grooms parents and I did have a chance to visit , worth more than I can say. We only get to see each other every few years but e mail daily. I miss them both sooooo much , I could cry.
She and I finally got the chance to talk about a topic that is difficult.
She and her hubs knew/suspected what the ex was doing to me, saw the marks and black eyes and so on...and have felt guilty all these years that they didn't step up. I told her that I was honestly afraid that her hubs would have killed my ex...no exaggeration there and I couldn't take that chance. Hell....my family didn't know for a very long time. I told her that I regretted that my sense of shame got the upper hand on my self respect at that point, but I'd go through most of it again to end up here . They adore the current hubs and he and the grooms daddy are more alike than anyone could have predicted.....pretty damn scary.
That conversation freed me in so many ways. It validated the events and showed me that one can still survive.
I love them both more than they will ever, ever know.
Back here at the Casa..
The kitchen turned out so pretty with the new paint, flooring and stuff that I am almost giddy over it.
His job moved locations the day of the wedding so it worked out that I wasn't here ..poor dude. His boss is still nuts over the stress of the whole thing but that is par. SU is still working insane hours but is willing to do what is needed.
Have a great week....I will post pics of the shindig when I can.
Ciao,
A very tired Aunty Pol
